Chelsea were beaten 3-0 by Everton in the Premier League to lose ground in the battle for Champions League qualification
Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League were handed another blow as they suffered a defeat to Everton. The Blues were beaten 3-0 by the Toffees at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday evening to miss out on the chance to climb above rivals Liverpool, who were beaten by Brighton earlier in the day.
Beto scored the first two goals for Everton, with Iliman Ndiaye also on the score sheet for the home side, to see Chelsea suffer back-to-back defeats in the Premier League after their loss to Newcastle United last weekend.
Liam Rosenior and Co. now go into the March international break in sixth place in the Premier League table and one point behind fifth-placed Liverpool, three adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa and seven behind Manchester United, who are third.
Chelsea’s next match will see them face Port Vale in the FA Cup, and will have to wait until April 12 before they are back in Premier League action, where Manchester City will be their next opponents.
