Chelsea needed extra time to get past Wrexham in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The Blues claimed a 4-2 victory over the Championship club on Saturday night at the Racecourse Ground.
Liam Rosenior’s side went a goal behind thanks to an opening strike from Sam Smith, before an own goal from Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwu saw Chelsea equalise.
Wrexham then got a second goal that saw Chelsea trail yet again, with Callum Doyle on the score sheet for the home side, before Josh Acheampong got the Blues level once again, which went on to force extra time.
Chelsea then took the lead in extra time with a goal from Alejandro Garnacho, with Joao Pedro also getting on the score sheet, which was enough for the Blues to book a spot in the quarter-final of the FA Cup.
