Chelsea forward Estevao has claimed Brazil must keep building momentum after they plundered five goals past South Korea. The Selecao finished fifth in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers and are still yet to have hit top gear under new boss Carlo Ancelotti.
However, Brazil offered a glimpse of the attacking quality at their disposal in the Far East on Friday as Estevao helped himself to a brace. The 18-year-old sensation is in red-hot form after also netting a last-gasp winner against Liverpool last weekend.
Furthermore, he is now the youngest player since 1961 to bag a double for Brazil. He said after the game: "I just have to thank God for the moment I'm living.
"I'm working hard, fighting every day for good things to come, and they are coming, thank God. I dedicate this moment to my family, who helped me a lot, and I can only thank God.
"Our team has been growing every day, every training session. We're very happy with our development, and now we need to continue at this pace.
"God willing, we'll be playing great games and keeping the momentum going. You have to be cool. You have to carefully control the ball, and I was fortunate. I thank God."
Brazil also face Japan in Tokyo on Tuesday before the return of club football. Head coach Ancelotti was delighted with his side's performance against South Korea and he also issued praise for Estevao.
The Italian said post-match: "I'm very pleased with the team's performance. Obviously, if you lay a strong foundation, with a solid defensive team, individual quality up front shines through.
"The team performed very well, because Rodrygo played a very good game, and so did Estevao. Up front, the team has a lot of variety, a lot of attacking solutions, and today we took advantage of the individual quality of these players."
Estevao looks poised for a key role when he returned to Chelsea as Cole Palmer has now been ruled out until November with a groin issue.
He has started four of Chelsea's seven Premier League matches so far this season and also featured from the bench in the Champions League against Bayern Munich and Benfica.
After starring alongside Real Madrid duo Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo - also scorer of two goals against South Korea - for Brazil, he could also be set for an integral role in Ancelotti's star-studded Selecao side ahead of next summer's World Cup.
