Club make last-ditch decision over deal for winger after Tottenham agreed to their terms

Tottenham Hotspur thought they may have completed one more transfer outgoing just in the nick of time before the window slammed shut.

While most of the focus for Spurs fans on deadline day was about who could arrive through the door, the club also had a busy day in terms of moving players around.

We know that Manor Solomon, Yves Bissouma and Bryan Gil had been deemed surplus to requirements by Thomas Frank, but it appeared as if the Lilywhites would have a hard time offloading the Israeli winger.

This is because sources indicated that Solomon preferred to remain at Spurs beyond the end of the transfer window after being named on the bench against Bournemouth, but the player’s chances of leaving the club on loan have fallen through late in the day.

Manor Solomon’s loan move to Crystal Palace collapses

On Monday morning, it was reported that Crystal Palace had approached Tottenham over landing Solomon.

The report added that Spurs were willing to offload the 26-year-old, who was weighing up his options in the final hours of the transfer window.

Football.London have revealed that Solomon’s loan move to Selhurst Park has collapsed, despite a deal sheet having been submitted to take the move beyond the 7pm window.

The completion of the deal sheet gave both clubs an extra two hours to get the deal over the line and despite Tottenhama agreeing to Palace’s terms, the South London club decided to pull out late on.

We never saw Manor Solomon’s best in a Tottenham shirt

Fans will have their own opinion on whether Solomon is ever good enough for a club with Champions League aspirations, but the winger showed at Fulham that he can be a formidable Premier League player.

The 26-year-old never really got a chance to have a run in the Tottenham side due to the injuries he suffered and may now have a chance to impress.

He will return to Tottenham training with a point to prove, unless he decides on a loan move abroad.
