Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto had the last laugh following Chelsea 4-1 victory against Aston Villa on Wednesday night
Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto have aimed cheeky digs at Amadou Onana following Chelsea's win over Aston Villa. Joao Pedro fired the Blues to victory at Villa Park on Wednesday evening, sealing three crucial points in the race for Champions League qualification.
With Manchester United losing to Newcastle at St. James' Park, Chelsea are now just three points off a place in the top four. Although the west Londoners have been given a huge boost to their hopes of securing a place in Europe's top-flight competition next term, only goal difference separates them from Liverpool in sixth.
Nevertheless, Palmer and Gusto certainly enjoyed the win in the West Midlands. After the game, they poked fun at Onana, who mocked Chelsea when Unai Emery's side clambered to victory at Stamford Bridge back in December 2025.
The Aston Villa midfielder celebrated the result in front of the Blues players in the tunnel by counting up to three with his fingers before putting his hand in his pocket. It wasn't the first time that Onana had done the celebration, and it had become somewhat of a trend on social media.

Upon the full-time whistle, the Chelsea squad headed over to the travelling support at Villa Park. After applauding the fans, Gusto sarcastically performed Onana's celebration.
Then, an hour or so later, Palmer rubbed salt into the wounds, uploading a video of the Belgium international doing the celebration to his Instagram account. By Thursday morning, the Blues star had garnered over half a million likes and nearly 10,000 comments.
Meanwhile, Onana was radio silent on social media. Speaking to reporters after the game, Liam Rosenior reflected on the result at Villa Park, which could prove decisive in the race for Champions League qualification.
"We could have kept a clean sheet," said the Chelsea boss. "No, it's a really good evening and so far I haven't heard of any injury issues. I was very proud of them today. We've had a few kicks.
"We spoke about responding positively before the game. We had to end the game because, first and foremost, the first attack. They scored from a fantastic finish. I don't understand how we don't get a penalty.
"The fact that we've won 4-1 doesn't change that. It's a clear penalty on Reece [James]. It's another setback. For the players to perform in the manner that they did, with and without the ball, makes me a very proud manager this evening."
On the significance of the result, Rosenior said: "It's only significant if we back it up. We have to be consistent. We have a massive FA Cup game, then we've got a huge game in Paris, and then we've got another huge game against Newcastle.
"We just need to back it up and not look at the significance of the games. We just need to perform, and if we perform at that level, we're going to be in a good place."
Chelsea will now turn their attention to Saturday evening's clash against Wrexham in the FA Cup fifth round.
