Cristian Romero has described Tottenham Hotspur's 2-1 defeat to West Ham as a 'disaster'. The Spurs captain was at the heart of the action on Saturday afternoon as Callum Wilson fired the Hammers to victory.
Crysencio Summerville put West Ham ahead after a quarter of an hour. Romero, who accidentally deflected the West Ham forward's strike past Guglielmo Vicario, redeemed himself in the second-half.
The Argentina international pulled back an equaliser shortly after the hour mark, latching onto a great cross from Pedro Porro to head the ball past Alphonse Areola. Despite Romero's best efforts, Tottenham couldn't find a winner.
In the dying embers of added time, Wilson snatched three points for West Ham, reacting quickest to a loose ball in the six-yard box.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Romero said: "In this moment we need to stay together, work hard, come back tomorrow to the training ground. It's a disaster in this moment for us.
"Thank you to the fans for always staying with us. Tomorrow we will train in silence, work hard again, midweek we have another big match. At this moment this is a disaster for us.
"We played sometimes good, sometimes bad. We must work hard and go again. It's a difficult moment for us. We are not the best on the pitch."
