Crystal Palace Plot Signing Man Utd, PSG Target to Contract Extension

1 hour ago 39

PSG turned heads in England last season with their UEFA Champions League run, overcoming Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal on the way to the title.

The French side also faced Premier League opponents in other major fixtures, including the FIFA Club World Cup final against Chelsea and the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham Hotspur. Regular exposure to English clubs could make PSG an appealing destination for Premier League players considering a move abroad.

Even though the 2026 summer transfer window is still months away, European teams are already sizing up potential signings. PSG are expected to target Premier League midfielders as they seek to strengthen their squad, although competition for those players will be fierce.

TBR Football recently reported that Crystal Palace recognizes it may be challenging to keep Adam Wharton long-term but is exploring a new deal to extend his contract through 2027.

If Wharton opts to move on, interest from abroad is expected to be strong, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and PSG all reportedly keeping a close eye on the young playmaker.

GIVE ME SPORT reports that Crystal Palace have begun talks with Wharton’s agents about a potential contract extension, amid interest from multiple clubs in the midfielder.

The England international currently sees staying with the Eagles as the best move for his growth, though that could shift in the summer if a significant offer comes through.

Wharton has recently addressed the speculation linking him to Manchester United as the January transfer window nears.

“I don’t really look into it or think too much about it,” Wharton said (h/t Transfer News Live). “There are always rumours floating about on social media. Is it true? Is it not? You tell me. My friends, my family, my brothers, everyone will message me and be like, ‘Is it true this club’s interested?’ I’m like, ‘Thanks for telling me because I didn’t know.’“

“I don’t know who’s spreading it or who at United is looking at it. I see it and I’m like, ‘OK’, and then I carry on with my day. United, the big teams, they’re all linked to 10, 20 different players. If I’m one of 20, then it’s nothing special, so it doesn’t really mean too much. I speak with my agent about planning ahead and possibilities.

“But at the end of the day, it is who’s interested and who’s willing to try and get you and if that becomes the case? You can speak about it, but you’ve got to represent that on the pitch and prove that you deserve it.”
