Daniel Munoz has acknowledged that it would be a dream to play for a club like Manchester United.
The Crystal Palace player conceded that he works tirelessly each day to catch the eye of sides such as Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, United or Real Madrid. Whilst emphasising his commitment to Palace, the Colombia international has not ruled out a potential move as early as this winter's transfer window.
It comes after Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher labelled Munoz "the best wing-back in the Premier League" earlier this campaign. The defender has now addressed speculation surrounding his future whilst away with his national team.
"First of all, I think there's a lot of talk about one club or another. It would be a dream to play for one of these clubs, whether it's Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, or Manchester United," Munoz told AS Colombia.
"I think I'm working towards that. I strive every day to one day attract the attention of one of these clubs, because for me, it's a dream to get there.
"I don't have concrete information that any of these clubs are interested in me. My focus is on Crystal Palace.
"We'll see when the winter transfer window gets closer. Right now, I'm totally focused on these two matches with the national team."
Munoz shared similar sentiments during the summer transfer window. "I want to play for the best teams in the world," he told Win Sports TV. "But they haven't spoken to me directly.
"I dream and work every day to achieve it, and I hope it can happen as soon as possible. I hope it's in this window, but if not, I'm very happy at Crystal Palace."
Munoz signed a new contract three months before making those comments. He said at the time: "From day one, I felt the energy on the field at Selhurst Park – now, it's my home."
Palace chairman Steve Parish said: "This is fantastic news for Crystal Palace. Daniel is the epitome of an excellent professional, giving his all in every match and training session.
"He has made a great impact since arriving in South London last year, and I am delighted that he has chosen to commit his future to the club."
Oliver Glasner made similar comments to his chairman days before the news became official. "Danny [Munoz] embodies the passion and spirit of the team," the Palace manager said. "He's so professional and always plays at a very high level.
"Also, he knows he has to improve a few things. For example, when we conceded the third goal after half-time at Manchester City, he opened up the gap inside, which he's done two or three times this season.
"It's great to have him. Since he arrived, he's had such a good and positive impact on the Crystal Palace performance.
"Having these kinds of players in the squad is what you wish as a manager. He's very reliable and always available. He has four goals and eight assists as a wing-back, so it's very positive."
Munoz has been ever-present since joining and has played a key role in the Eagles' rise under Glasner.
