Curtis Jones has been omitted from England's squad for the upcoming matches against Wales and Latvia.
Jones made his senior Three Lions debut under interim manager Lee Carsley last summer and is still hoping to secure his place at next year's World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Yet the Liverpool midfielder was not included in current boss Thomas Tuchel's squad for last month's internationals, and he'll play no part this month, either.
In fact, no Liverpool players have been included in Tuchel's squad. Ex-Reds star Trent Alexander-Arnold has also been left out again after his September snub, although he's still recovering from injury, and there's no place for Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham.
Despite his return to fitness and a spot in Real Madrid's Champions League starting XI, Tuchel has decided not to include Bellingham.
This decision comes just two days after Bellingham was honored as England's fans' Player of the Year, a significant move considering his recent recovery from injury.
Tensions have been brewing since June, when Tuchel remarked that his own mother found some of Bellingham's on-pitch behaviour "repulsive."
Phil Foden and Jack Grealish also miss out on a place in the squad, while Bukayo Saka makes a welcome return following his recovery from injury. There's no place for Jack Grealish, despite the Everton man being named August's Premier League Player of the Month.
Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, who is now at Brentford, continues to be part of Tuchel's squad.
"It’s only three weeks now since the last camp and the last win [against Serbia], the last performance," Tuchel explained. "So the question was, why not bring the same group in? Because they set the standards, and now it is about creating habits out of it."
Tuchel added: "We have unfortunately two injuries at the moment, Tino (Livramento) and Noni (Madueke), and we bring, of course, Bukayo Saka to replace Noni, and Jarell Quansah was a late call-up last time. He will stay in camp."
