Curtis Jones said Liverpool's players were keeping a positive mindset after Mohamed Salah's incendiary post-game chat with reporters at Elland Road on Saturday.
Salah was absent for Liverpool's trip to Inter Milan in the Champions League after claiming he had been "thrown under the bus" by the club after being benched for three Premier League games in succession. Liverpool midfielder Jones was asked ahead of kick-off in Milan what the mindset of the players was like after a difficult few days following the Leeds game.
"We're positive, it's positive as always, every game we approach, we want to win, and we will do it again today," Jones said.
"They are going to have the fans there who will cheer them on, and we are here to take that away and play our game.
"We have lads who are brave on the ball, and we're going to try and win and fight."
Thankfully for Liverpool supporters, the team did claim a much-needed win to move up to eighth place in the Champions League league phase, with Dominik Szoboszlai scoring the winning goal from the penalty spot in the closing stages of the game.
The Reds will round off their league-phase fixtures with games against Marseille and Qarabag in January.
A top-eight finish is required if they are to avoid a two-legged playoff to make it into the last 16.
Assessing Liverpool's victory over Inter in his post-game press conference, Arne Slot said: "I think it was mainly for us very important that we got a result today, because with an away game to Marseille also still to play and one home game, we needed points.
"And we know how difficult that would be over here [against Inter], because they have been so, so, so strong in this stadium, in the league, but definitely also in the Champions League.
"So it's a great result, like it was against Real Madrid [at Anfield in November].
"It's not funny, but it's the weird thing that we've had a few special results this season; so, beating Arsenal, beating Real Madrid, beating Newcastle away, beating Aston Villa, where they won 10 in a row and only lost against us.
"So that's why it's so surprising to see that we drop points in so many other games, although there are multiple reasons."
Liverpool's next game is against Brighton on Saturday.
