Amidst concerning reports about the expected length of Dejan Kulusevski’s absence, Tottenham fans will breathe a sigh of relief after the Swede’s latest update on social media.
Kulusevski has been out since the start of May with a knee injury, and Thomas Frank is still waiting to get his first look at the Swede on the training pitch.
The 25-year-old’s injury absence is made particularly worse by the fact that James Maddison is also out with an ACL injury.
With Tottenham having failed to sign a number ten so far, Frank has had to use Pape Sarr in that role, and while the Senegalese has done well, reports indicate that the Spurs boss is extremely keen to add some creativity to his squad.
Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski says he will be ‘back soon’
What is even more concerning is that some sources have claimed that Kulusevski could be out of action until the end of 2025.
This information contradicts what was reported at the start of this month, with The Mirror initially claiming that Kulusevski will only miss the first month of the season.
The Spurs star has now clarified the confusion over his expected return date, taking to Instagram to post a video of himself on an exercise bike.
The caption of Kulusevski’s post reads: “Your favourite player’s favourite player soon back”, which will fill Tottenham fans with optimism.
Neither Spurs nor Sweden have given a timeline for Kulusevski’s return
The Tottenham head coach has not given us too much information about the midfielder’s injury, with Frank simply stating that Kulusevski is “out for a long time” when asked about the attacker earlier this month.
Meanwhile, the Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has said that it is ‘too early’ to discuss Kulusevski’s return.
Those comments certainly do not suggest that the former Juventus man’s return is imminent, which makes it all the more important for Tottenham to sign a top-class number ten before the window slams shut.
