Difficulty rating of Tottenham’s fixtures compared to Premier League relegation rivals

1 hour ago 20

Opta have ranked the difficulty of Tottenham Hotspur’s final 11 Premier League games compared to all 19 other sides, including Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be in a dogfight with West Ham and Forest, with all three of whom are trying to avoid an 18th-place finish.

The Lilywhites have 11 more matches to secure their Premier League status and ensure that they do not go down to the second tier for the first time in almost half a century.

Igor Tudor has struck a confident tone about Spurs’ survival chances, but the Lilywhites’ form has been in a downward trend, and they could find themselves in the bottom three in a couple of weeks.

Tottenham have easier fixtures than both West Ham and Nottingham Forest

Using data from Opta, The Athletic have now rated the difficulty of the 11 remaining fixtures for each Premier League side this season.

According to their deductions, Tottenham come out in midtable, with the Lilywhites found to have the 10th most difficult remaining fixture list.

The good news for Spurs is the fact that both Forest and West Ham are deemed to have an extremely challenging end to the campaign.

Opta claim that the Hammers have the most difficult fixtures out of any side in the division, while Forest have the fourth hardest.

How many more wins do Spurs need?

Tottenham need three more wins and two draws to get to the magic 40-point mark from their eleven fixtures.

However, given the run of form Spurs are on, 11 points from 11 matches does seem like a difficult ask, but it is also unlikely that both Forest and West Ham will get that many from their remaining matches.

Tottenham should have enough quality to get a couple of victories on the board once some key players return from injury and suspension over the coming weeks.
