Tottenham Hotspur fans have now shared a mixed reaction to the club’s latest managerial appointment of Roberto De Zerbi.

Spurs’ next appointment, Igor Tudor, had one of the briefest spells of any manager in recent history, with his time coming to an end after 44 days in north London, a period in which he was winless in the league.
Tottenham fans react to Roberto De Zerbi appointment
Tottenham have now succeeded in appointing Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach, with the Italian agreeing a five-year deal. No relegation clause was included in his contract, despite reports stating otherwise.
The Italian will now be focused on meeting his new squad before Spurs take to the pitch on April 12 against Sunderland.
Many Tottenham fans have now shared their reactions to the latest managerial appointment, with responses ranging from positive to negative.
One fan said: “Great addition, I wish you well Gaffer,” while another called for unity: “Robert De Zerbi Welcome to Spurs boss 🤍 This man will 100% keep us up Leave your egos at the front door and get behind him Spurs fans COME ON YOU SPURS.”
Another supporter added: “Welcome Roberto. Seven biggest games in our history starting with Sunderland away. Let us go.”
However, not all reactions have been positive. One fan questioned the club’s decision-making, stating: “A club who is famous for being tight with finances are hiring a bloke who likes to call out the board for not spending. What could possibly go wrong?”
Another delivered a more scathing verdict: “APPOINTING ROBERTO DE ZERBI ON A LONG-TERM DEAL WHILE SPURS ARE TEETERING NEAR THE BOTTOM? THIS IS NOT LONG-TERM VISION, IT IS A RECKLESS ROLL OF THE DICE THAT COULD TURN FANS’ DREAMS INTO A SEASON-LONG NIGHTMARE!”
Other supporters, including prominent Spurs fan groups, have continued to question De Zerbi’s comments relating to Mason Greenwood, and his suitability to serve as the face of Tottenham Hotspur.
One fan said: “Disgusting. I have no idea how the women working with the first team and all the women fans feel about this. The club continues to stoop lower and lower.”
Another added: “Every time I think the club can’t sink lower, you prove me wrong.”
Spurs concerns remain after De Zerbi arrival
There are several reasons why this De Zerbi appointment could end badly for Tottenham, and one of them is the lack of full support from fans.
Before landing the job, three Spurs supporters’ groups came forward calling for the club to go against De Zerbi, given his backing of Mason Greenwood during his time at Marseille.
The former Brighton manager also has a track record of falling out with those higher up, as seen during his spell with the Seagulls and Marseille.
He is not the perfect candidate, but Tottenham will be hoping that he can steady the ship and bring some stability in the coming years.
