Djed Spence has shared the feelings of the Tottenham squad ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League.
Although Tottenham’s campaign began with heartbreak against PSG in the UEFA Super Cup, which they lost on penalties, the Lilywhites showed that they can go toe-to-toe against the best sides in Europe.
That bodes well for the club ahead of the Champions League campaign, where Spurs will come up against some of the biggest clubs in Europe in the league phase.
Thomas Frank has set Tottenham’s first objective as qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League, and it appears that there is excitement and belief in the squad ahead of their European adventure.
Spurs players want to prove themselves on the biggest stage
Tottenham are returning to the Champions League following a two-year absence from the competition, but this will be the first taste of the tournament for many in the Spurs squad.
One of those is Spence, who revealed that he and his teammates are hungry to show what they can do on the biggest stage.
When asked about the Champions League, the full-back told Football.London: “It’s a great competition, it’s the big stage, everyone wants to show what they can do on the biggest stage. So yeah, looking forward to it.”

There is no doubt that Spurs need a big squad to cope with the rigours of the Champions League and the Premier League.
According to reports, Tottenham are currently working on deals for Eberechi Eze and Savinho, and Spence admits that new additions will certainly help the club in their quest to challenge.
When asked about rumoured incomings, he responded: “Yeah, I mean, I’m not sure who has been linked or who is going to come in, but I think whoever comes in will definitely add strength to the squad and will be a good thing for us.”
