Manchester City conceded a stoppage time equaliser to draw 1-1 with Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday
Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias both face spells on the sidelines as Manchester City's injury crisis deepens. The defensive duo were both forced off in the second half as City drew 1-1 with Chelsea to miss the chance to cut the gap to Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Enzo Fernandez scored in the dying seconds to earn a point for managerless Chelsea and deny City a win after Tijjani Reijnders had put Pep Guardiola's side ahead in the first half with a fine finish. As well as losing two points, City also lost two more players to injury in the shape of Gvardiol and Dias.
With John Stones also out it leaves City light in defence while Nico Gonzalez, Oscar Bobb and Savinho are also sidelined. Omar Marmoush and Rayan Ait-Nouri are away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations to leave City short of numbers ahead of the midweek game with Brighton with both set to be ruled out for a few weeks.
Speaking after the game, Guardiola said: "We will see tomorrow, it doesn't look good for him and Ruben. If Ruben is out it is because he felt something.
"We have a lot (of injuries). John Stones missing, Ruben will be out, Josko will be out and Nathan, always we know is Nathan and cannot play regularly. But at the same time it happened last season so stay strong and we will find a solution. The spirit will be there."
City are in action every midweek in January, with trips to Newcastle and Bodo in the weeks after the home game with Brighton on Wednesday. They face Galatasaray at home in their ninth and final game of the month before travelling to Spurs on February 1.
