Sheikh Mansour attended the Gaza peace summit on Monday, and US President Donald Trump made his feelings clear to those watching on what he really thinks of the Manchester City owner
Donald Trump made his feelings clear about Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour during the Gaza peace summit in Egypt on Monday.
World leaders gathered for a major diplomatic meeting to discuss next steps in achieving long-term peace in Gaza. Mansour, the vice and deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, attended alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The summit follows a newly established ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, brokered with key involvement from the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. The aim is to turn the temporary truce into a lasting framework for peace.
As he posed for photos, the City owner, Mansour was greeted by the United of States President, Trump.
During their encounter, Trump said: "A lot of cash, unlimited cash... And he's a good man, too!"
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas were also present.
Mansour's attendance reflects his diplomatic role beyond football and his position as owner of City.
Through the Abu Dhabi United Group, Mansour holds senior roles in several Emirati institutions, including the UAE Central Bank, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and the Mubadala Investment Company.
Mansour's Abu Dhabi United Group purchased Manchester City in 2008, a deal that transformed both the club and the Premier League.
Since then, major silverware is expected every season, and significant investment has established the club as serious contenders on all fronts.
On the pitch, Pep Guardiola's side will return to Premier League action this weekend, facing Everton on Saturday at 3pm.
