Dundee to inspect Dens Park pitch after heavy rain

Dundee will inspect the Dens Park pitch to assess whether their Scottish Premiership game against Motherwell can go ahead on Wednesday evening.

Following heavy rainfall overnight in Angus, Dundee have arranged a precautionary inspection with the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) at 14:30 GMT.

"The update on the outcome will be issued as soon as is available," said a Dundee statement.

Dundee struggled with the Dens Park pitch two seasons ago and admitted to five breaches of SPFL rules following a series of postponements because of waterlogging.

Dundee are third bottom of the Premiership while Motherwell are in fourth place.
