Eberechi Eze hijack sparks anger on live radio as Jamie O'Hara forces talkSPORT to pull plug

1 day ago 4

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O'Hara delivered a blistering outburst live on talkSPORT over Spurs missing out on Eberechi Eze to Arsenal.

His explosive rant even caused the broadcaster to dramatically cut the live feed after the 38-year-old unleashed the F-bomb. Like countless Tottenham fans, O'Hara is stunned that Spurs, who appeared set to secure the Crystal Palace attacking midfielder, now seem to have been pipped by their fierce north London rivals.

Arsenal bided their time until the final moments to swoop in ahead of Spurs by agreeing a £68million deal – including £8m of add-ons – with Palace, with Eze also finalising personal terms with the Gunners.

Appearing on talkSPORT to express his astonishment, O'Hara wrapped up his passionate outburst by declaring he was "F*****g..." – with the remainder of his statement remaining a mystery as the broadcaster pulled the live-stream and radio show for several seconds.

The chaos ensued as co-presenter and former Chelsea player Jason Cundy suggested Spurs harbour delusions of grandeur and believe they're a more significant club than they are. Cundy taunted O'Hara with a baby doll, complete with wailing sound effects, prompting the former Wolves midfielder to unleash his fury, reports the Mirror.

"I'm disappointed in Tottenham, I'm disappointed. we should have had this deal done weeks ago, we should have had it over the line and got it done," O'Hara said.

"As soon as we started the season, we should have had Eze in the team, and do you know what, it serves us right. It serves Daniel Levy right, it serves Spurs right, it's the same old Tottenham, it happens every single season, we're penny-pinchers!

"It happened again, and we're going to miss out on a top-quality player who's proven in the Premier League. Just pay the money and get the player over the line! We got rid of [Heung-min] Son, [James] Maddison has done his ACL, we needed Eze, we needed him.

Jason Cundy puts his hands on his head as Jamie O'Hara's rants away

Jason Cundy was in shock at O'Hara's rant

"It's an absolute joke that we're going to lose him to Arsenal of all teams, who are going to waltz in and pay and get it over the line in a couple of hours, it's a joke."

Cundy then proceeded to question O'Hara about whether he'd prefer to join Tottenham or Arsenal if he were in the Crystal Palace star's position. O'Hara responded: "I get it, Arsenal are a better team than us, they're in a better position, I wouldn't say they're bigger.

"They're performing well and that's precisely why Tottenham needed to seal the deal, so you can't be gazumped. This is what occurs, the larger clubs swoop in and secure the players, you don't complete the transfer, this is what's going to unfold."

O'Hara then directed his frustration squarely at Levy once more, arguing he has failed to strike in the transfer market following Son's departure to Los Angeles FC and Maddison's serious injury setback. He continued: "Levy is a penny-pincher. Maddison did his ACL a month ago, he could have got the deal done.

TalkSPORT holding card

TalkSPORT had to intervene after O'Hara's slip

"Maddison is out for the season, he's done, Son's gone, he knew Son was going, he knew that a month ago. He knew those players were done and he still hasn't got it over the line, he still hasn't got it over the line knowing this was coming."

In a moment of frustration, O'Hara shouted: "How have you not got this done? Honestly, it's a joke and I'm f*****g.." Fortunately, the broadcaster was quick to react to O'Hara's slip-up on the YouTube live-stream and across the airwaves.

The live-stream was swiftly adjusted so viewers saw only a holding card announcing the duo's imminent return. When the coverage resumed, O'Hara appeared with his head in his hands while Cundy said: "Oh my word. He had to dump himself, he swore, he dropped an F-bomb."

A visibly embarrassed O'Hara then composed himself, adding: "I don't think I've ever done that before."

Eze is now poised to undergo a medical at Arsenal after one last appearance for Palace in their Conference League play-off match against Fredrikstad on Thursday evening at Selhurst Park. However, Palace may choose to leave him out of the tie to prevent any risk of injury ahead of the medical.
