Arsenal playmaker Eberechi Eze found himself in an awkward exchange with Sky Sports presenter Patrick Davison following the Gunners' emphatic victory over Tottenham in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta's men secured a commanding 4-1 North London derby triumph courtesy of a double from the England international and another brace from Viktor Gyokeres.

The result represented Arsenal's most comprehensive away win against Spurs since 1978 and saw them establish a five-point cushion over second-placed Manchester City, who had narrowed the deficit with victory against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Eze broke the deadlock just past the half-hour mark, though Arsenal's advantage proved short-lived as Randal Kolo Muani restored parity for the home side within two minutes.

Following a tight opening period, the Gunners dominated proceedings after the interval and cruised to victory, with both Eze and Gyokeres delivering outstanding displays.

Sky Sports' Davison described Eze's finishes as "simple," a characterisation that clearly surprised the Arsenal midfielder. He replied: "They're not simple!"

"But I'm always trying to get in those positions to find the space, to work hard and get those opportunities. It takes a long way to go there.

"Today it's worked out, thank God for it. We put in a good performance, we did what we needed to do today which was the main thing.

"We know what we're capable of. We know what we can do. We have to play games to dominate and win, we have the players in the team to do it. An important win and performance."

Eze had been touted for a switch to Spurs during the summer transfer window, but instead chose the Emirates Stadium and has shone in both encounters against the Gunners' bitter north London rivals this term.

Questioned about whether Tottenham supporters were taunting him, Eze responded: "Quite a lot! That's football, it's understandable. You just keep doing what you're doing."

The double at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium took Eze's tally to five strikes against Arsenal's fierce adversaries this season, following his treble in the 4-1 win at home.

Pressed on why he consistently finds the net against Spurs, Eze remarked: "I don't know. I try to score every single game. It seems to work quite a lot against Tottenham. It's a feeling you get."

He also praised Arsenal forward Gyokeres, who delivered his finest display in a Gunners jersey since arriving from Sporting in the summer.

"Vik was doing it all game, you can see his work ethic," Eze said. "He helps the team not just with his goals but the effort he puts in.

"It gets players like me in the best positions and it helps a lot. He's got his two goals today which he deserves."
