Eden Hazard gives ultimate Cole Palmer approval as Chelsea legend sends Mohamed Salah message

Eden Hazard has been speaking about Chelsea star Cole Palmer and the Blues legend has given the 23-year-old attacker the ultimate approval when asked to rank him

Eden Hazard has given Cole Palmer the ultimate approval by ranking the Chelsea star ahead of Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah.

Palmer has been a revelation for the Blues since signing from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 for £42.5million. The 23-year-old has made 101 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions and has contributed with 45 goals and 29 assists along the way - establishing himself as one of the very best in his position.

Hazard, someone Chelsea supporters consider a club legend to this day, is clearly a huge admirer of the England international. In a game of 'Winner Stays On', via the Premier League's social media channels, Palmer was the one that stayed on.

Initially, Hazard had to choose between Eberechi Eze and Palmer, and the Belgian said: "Guys, you touch my heart. I have to say Cole Palmer". Palmer was then put up against Alexander Isak and Salah, and both times Hazard did not hesitate in choosing the Chelsea star.

The feeling seems very much mutual between Palmer and Hazard. Palmer recently said: "If I could play with one Chelsea icon, it would, for sure, be Eden Hazard. Our game is different but I try to be as exciting as Hazard."

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

This season has been an extremely frustrating one for Palmer, who has made just four appearances in all competitions due to a persistent groin injury. The England international is set to miss the remainder of the month due to the problem with Chelsea targeting a return for the attacker in November, football.london understands.

Last month, Enzo Maresca was asked by football.london to shed a bit more light on Palmer and his injury that has plagued him at the start of the season. The Chelsea head coach described how it was a bit of a complicated one that needed to be monitored closely.

"We need to protect Cole, for sure, 100%," Maresca said last month. "Not only Cole in my personal view, because as I said now, because of the Club World Cup or because we never stop. We need to manage and protect different players. For sure Cole is one of them. Another one is Moi [Caicedo].

"Joao Pedro also, since he joined us, he's playing every game. The solution with Cole, I don't know. Now we have a meeting with the medical staff and we decide the best solution for him. But it's also a kind of injury that is not like black and white.

"It's not an injury that some day you can be better. It's not that you are playing and tomorrow you disappear. Sometimes you can be better, sometimes you can be worse. That is why we need to manage day by day."
