Eden Hazard has made his feelings known about Chelsea's managerial situation
Eden Hazard believes 'the time has come' for Cesc Fabregas to become Chelsea head coach. The Como boss was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge shortly after Enzo Maresca stepped down, but the Blues opted for Liam Rosenior instead.
Fabregas joined the Italian outfit as a player on a free transfer during the summer of 2022. A year later, the former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder retired and began coaching the Como Under-19s.
He only took charge of the team for nine games before becoming caretaker manager of the first team. Fabregas made a great impression, winning 10 points from a possible 15, so he remained with the senior squad.
Osian Roberts, who went on to secure promotion to the Serie A, named the former Spain international as his assistant. Then, at the end of the season, Como promoted Fabregas to head coach.

In his debut season as a senior manager, the Spaniard helped the Italian outfit finish in the top half of the table. Fabregas has made great progress with Como this term, mounting a valiant bid for qualification to either of UEFA's three club competitions.
They currently sit sixth in the Serie A, and are just four points off Juventus in fourth. During his time as Como boss, Fabregas has produced results while playing an attractive brand of football.
In a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Hazard tipped his former Chelsea teammate, with whom he won two Premier League titles, to take the reins at Stamford Bridge. The Blues legend said: "I’ll be honest, in the summer we talked a bit.
"I told him he was one of the best midfielders in history and that he’s destined to become one of the best coaches as well. I explained to him that the time has come for him to return to Chelsea, and he joked about it, but I really believe it.
"He loves football and knows everything about this sport. I’m a Chelsea fan, and I want the best for the club. That’s why I dream of seeing Cesc on their bench, while I’ll be staying in the stands behind him, enjoying the show."
While Hazard may dream of Fabregas becoming the new Chelsea boss, the Spaniard pledged his future to Como in June 2025. Speaking at the South By Southwest conference in London, he said: "I really believe in Como's long-term project.
"I arrived here as a player, and I'm very, very happy because I can work here the way I want."
Sitting alongside Fabregas, the Como president, Mirwan Suwarso, said: "Our path is long, it will last for several seasons and it revolves around Cesc Fabregas, who will not leave the club."
