Galatasaray are yet to make a bid for Ederson

Manchester City are yet to receive an offer from Galatasaray for Ederson as the Turkish giants consider a move for the Brazilian goalkeeper.

The 31-year-old's camp are understood to have held talks with Galatasaray over a potential transfer, but no official approach has been forthcoming.

Ederson was close to an exit last summer when the Saudi Pro League expressed interest, but he had been expected to stay and see out the final year of his contract.

Interest from the 25-time Turkish champions could change that, and the low tax rate in Turkey is making the Super Lig an attractive proposition for players. Galatasaray are close to sealing a permanent deal for Victor Osimhen, considered one of Europe's hottest strikers.

The goalkeeping situation at the Etihad has come under scrutiny. Ederson will turn 32 next month, and Stefan Ortega will be 33 in November. Both are out of contract at the end of June 2026.

Pep Guardiola said earlier in the summer he expected both to stay at the club, but a departure for one would force City into the market.

Despite repeated speculation, they hold no interest in Porto goalkeeper Diego Costa but could turn to former academy stopper James Trafford, 22, who is expected to leave Burnley this summer.

Newcastle United had been leading the chase for Trafford, but any potential move is on hold. The goalkeeper is keen to return to City, having spent eight years in the club's academy system before his £15million move to the Clarets in 2023.

City hold a buy-back option on Trafford worth around £40million, but they could seek to negotiate that down if they firm up their interest in a player who was called up to the England squad at the end of last season. Any move would be dependant on one of Ederson or Ortega leaving the club this summer.
