England are potentially just a matter of hours away from becoming the first senior national team in the country to retain a major trophy.
The Lionesses head to Basel tonight to take on world champions Spain in the Euro 2025 final. Sarina Wiegman's team have sent their supporters on an emotional rollercoaster this summer having become the first holders to lose their opening group stage match in the tournament.
However, comfortable victories over the Netherlands and Wales secured their place in the knockout stages. But the drama was only just beginning as the Lionesses had to come back from behind twice in the quarter and semi-finals to defeat Sweden and Italy, to book their place in the showpiece fixture.
Spain, meanwhile, have justified their billing as favourites. Having thrashed Portugal, Belgium and Italy in the group stages, they defeated hosts Switzerland and Germany without conceding a goal to reach the final.
England and Spain met each other in the final of the World Cup just two years ago and the Spanish were victorious that day. In their last meeting, the Spaniards were victorious 2-1 with Claudia Pina's brace cancelling out Alessia Russo's open in the Nations League just last month.
