Enzo Fernandez has been speaking about his future at Chelsea amid speculation that Real Madrid are interested in the in-form Argentine midfielder

Enzo Fernandez has insisted he is "very happy" at Chelsea and is focused on achieving more success at Stamford Bridge despite speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Real Madrid.

Reports in recent times, circulating mostly from Spain, have credited Los Blancos with a keen interest in the 25-year-old. Though football.london understands Chelsea have zero interest in allowing Fernandez, who has been one of the Blues' most impressive performers this season, to depart the club.

Chelsea view the Argentina international as a significant part of the club's long-term future and this season has shown exactly why - with Fernandez scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in all competitions for the west Londoners. Fernandez, too, seems very settled at Stamford Bridge.

"I am grateful for the three years I've had at the club," said Fernandez in an interview with Sky Sports. "It's gone from worse to better. Being here today makes me very happy.

"I want to keep winning things with the club, because that's what this shirt demands. I'm very connected to the club and I feel very good, so I hope to win a lot more trophies here."

Fernandez was signed over three years ago for £106million - in what was a British-record at the time. During his time with the Blues, Fernandez has played under four different permanent head coaches. Liam Rosenior is the latest and Fernandez seems to be a big fan of the man brought in to replace Enzo Maresca a month ago.

"He's a great coach," Fernandez said on Rosenior. "He only arrived a month ago but he's showing all his potential.

"Football doesn't give you time. It only wants results. That's what it is. But he is managing to get results and he gives us a lot of confidence, so we're happy that he's with us. We've all felt how we are growing, both as a group and me on a personal level."

Fernandez has also credited Rosenior with allowing him the freedom to attack the box without being too concerned about what is coming the other way. In Rosenior's eight matches in charge of Chelsea, the former Benfica midfielder has scored four goals for the Blues.

"I've enjoyed being able to add goals and assists to my game," said Fernandez. "The coach gives me freedom. He gives me freedom to express myself in the last few metres of the pitch and I've been feeling good.

"We have a game plan for each game and it's what Liam asks for. He gives us freedom in the final third and I try to get there, into the box, so my teammates have another option.

"It's something I have worked on in training. But the most important thing, I think, is also being in a good condition physically to get into those last few metres in the box, because I play in midfield and I have to get up and down a lot in my position. I feel prepared for that now. I prepare myself for those moments."
