There were a few negatives to take away from Chelsea's narrow victory away at Wolves on Wednesday evening but equally there were some positive talking points as well
It was quite the night at Molineux on Wednesday. Seven goals, one red card and a very angry Enzo Maresca post-match. An unforgettable Carabao Cup tie.
It will certainly not be forgotten anytime soon by Andrey Santos. The 21-year-old midfielder, almost three years after officially joining Chelsea, fired in his first goal for the club to open the scoring in the west Midlands.
After some great work from Jamie Gittens, who provided two assists and also bagged his first goal for the Blues, Santos took aim and found the bottom corner with his weaker left foot. Jose Sa had no chance and Santos marked a special moment in his career by celebrating a special moment in his life.
Santos and his wife announced earlier this month that they were expecting a baby boy, who has already been named Bryan. The Brazil international did the classic celebration, which footballers that are expecting often do, of placing the ball under his shirt while sucking his thumb.
It was Santos' 11th appearance of the season in all competitions for the Blues and in the 10 leading up to Wednesday evening's cup tie, we had been shown glimpses of his talent and ability. There was an element, though, of wanting more from the talented Brazil international.

In Wolverhampton, Santos started the match alongside Romeo Lavia in essentially a double pivot in the Chelsea midfield. Lavia’s job was to hold while Santos was allowed a bit more freedom to roam forward into the Wolves half. Especially in the first-half, there was a fine balance in that regard.
Santos' pressing was particularly impressive. He was relentless out of possession at Molineux and that was showcased for Estevao Willian's goal. Fer Lopez took too long on the ball in the Wolves midfield and Santos pounced to win possession back for the visitors and in turn tee up Estevao, who dinked it over Sa.
Santos has played in the No.6, No.8 and No.10 for Chelsea this season. On Wednesday night, he played as a secondary No.8, essentially, with plenty of freedom knowing that the disciplined Lavia was behind him to sweep anything up.
From what we have seen from Santos so far in a Chelsea shirt, and it is very early days, that position looked the most natural to him. The statistics back that up, too: One goal, one assist, 64 passes, 78% pass accuracy (he played some risky passes), one key pass, one big chance created, two tackles won, 11 recoveries, three out of six aerial duels won and seven out of eight ground duels won.
The good news for Maresca is that Santos has now become an even more viable option to start in the Premier League - something he has done just twice since joining the Blues. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo have played an awful lot of football over the last 12 months and it comes as no surprise that it is catching up to them a little bit.
Maresca admitted after the defeat to Sunderland at the weekend that Fernandez, Caicedo and Joao Pedro have all been carrying slight knocks in recent weeks but have been fighting through the pain barrier. While the Chelsea head coach will want to have Fernandez and Caicedo, who cost the club a combined figure of close to £222million, on the pitch as often as possible, Santos has proven that he has the ability to fill in for them, especially as the secondary No.8 in midfield.
