It has been a mixed start to the season for Enzo Maresca and Chelsea as we are now into the second international break of the campaign.
The Blues have three wins from their opening seven Premier League matches, with two draws and a couple of defeats as well. One loss and a win in the Champions League has them in a decent position in the league phase, while the west Londoners are also through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
With the second two-week break of the campaign now upon us, football.london felt it was the perfect time to take a look back at the opening weeks of the season and rate how the players have fared. FYI: Only players who have featured two or more times - in all competitions - have been chosen for our ratings
Robert Sanchez - 6
Not bad, but not great either. For the most part, he has been solid. His distribution remains a concern.
Filip Jorgensen - 4
Two appearances, with one of them being more difficult than the other. The outing against Manchester United was difficult for several reasons, but the one that was really disappointing was the win at Lincoln City, where he looked really off it.
Reece James - 8
James has been outstanding at the start of the season. Looking back to his absolute best. Suffered an injury against Liverpool, though it is understood to not be serious.
Malo Gusto - 6
A mixed bag, really. He is never going to be a fan favourite, unfortunately. Gusto has looked sloppy at times but he gets a six because of some really strong performances. Against Liverpool at the weekend, the Frenchman was very impressive.
Josh Acheampong - 8
Just four appearances this season - and two of them have been cameos. Acheampong continues to shine for the Blues. The 19-year-old was imperious against Alexander Isak on Saturday evening.
Trevoh Chalobah - 6
Started the season really well but in recent weeks, Chalobah has not been at his best. The 26-year-old defender struggled at Manchester United and was then shown a straight red card in the next league game at home to Brighton.
Wesley Fofana - 6
Fofana has not been at his absolute best but some slack needs to be cut given he is continuing to recover to full fitness. There have been signs of the best version of the Frenchman, and he may get there again, but we need to pray he can stay fit.
Benoit Badiashile - 7
Just three appearances for Badiashile after a lengthy layoff. In those three games, though, the 24-year-old has looked really strong. Particularly against Liverpool, where he was often left one-on-one with Mohamed Salah, but got the better of the forward.
Jorrel Hato - 6
His full Premier League debut at Brentford was a bit of a nightmare but there has been a bit of a resurgence from the Dutchman since. In the last couple of matches, he has been used as a central defender given the injury situation, but Maresca seems to predominantly see him as cover for Marc Cucurella at left-back.
Tosin Adarabioyo - 6
A bit like Chalobah. Started the season really well but struggled in recent appearances. Overall, though, it has been a fine start for the experienced defender.

Marc Cucurella - 8
The Spaniard has once again been so consistent. He never dips below a 6/10. Even in some games where he has started a tad shakily, Cucurella has more than redeemed himself.
Moises Caicedo - 9
World-class. Simply brilliant from Caicedo at the start of this season - and at this point, you would expect nothing less. The best midfielder in the Premier League right now and there is not too much debate.
Enzo Fernandez - 7
Fernandez continues to cause division amongst supporters but he has had a promising start to the season overall. There have been some matches where the Argentine, who has started all of Chelsea's seven Premier League fixtures, has looked a tad fatigued. However, Fernandez goes into the second international break of the season with three goals and an assist to his name.
Romeo Lavia - 7
Just two appearances for Lavia this season so far, but in those couple of games, he has shown his importance to the side. The challenge for Maresca and his backroom staff is to somehow try and keep the injury prone Belgian on the pitch.
Andrey Santos - 7
A promising start to life at Stamford Bridge for Santos. The Brazilian has racked up just short of 300 minutes in total thus far and will be hoping that number increases drastically over the coming months, as the midfielder has shown promise.
Facundo Buonanotte - 6
Buonanotte has been quietly impressive since signing on loan from Brighton. He very much seems to be a Cole Palmer understudy and has enjoyed time on the pitch in recent weeks when Chelsea's No.10 has been missing through injury.
Cole Palmer - 7
That brings us on nicely to Palmer, who has made just four appearances in all competitions this season. A groin injury has disrupted the 23-year-old's campaign thus far but when he has been on the pitch, he has looked Chelsea's most important attacking player, which is what is expected at this point.
Estevao Willian - 8
A hugely impressive start to life at Chelsea all things considered. Just 18 years old, moving to a new country and culture, yet Estevao's transition has been seemingly seamless. That moment against Liverpool will live with the Brazil international forever, and it is just the start for him at Stamford Bridge.
Pedro Neto - 7
Neto's form from the Club World Cup has continued into the season which is really pleasing for everyone involved. The Portuguese winger is always a threat, whether he plays on the left or right, yet you would like to see more of him in terms of his goal return (just one goal so far this season in all competitions).
Jamie Gittens - 5
It has been a slow start to life at Chelsea for Gittens, who signed for the club for £55million in the summer. You could almost accuse the young winger of trying too hard to impress whenever he has been on the pitch. The intent is there; he is always direct with his running and never seems to lose confidence, but the end product has been severely lacking. This is in no way writing Gittens off, but an improvement is required.
Joao Pedro - 7
As starts to a Chelsea career go, not many can match Joao Pedro's. After an electrifying introduction at the Club World Cup in the summer, excitement over the Brazil forward increased with two goals in the opening three matches of the season. His goal against Fulham on August 30, though, was his most recent, and he has started to let games drift him by a bit. Whether that is down to him or the service he is getting, that is up for Maresca to ponder.
Alejandro Garnacho - 6
A solid start for Garnacho. Given there seemed to be so much negativity about his signing, you could argue he has exceeded expectations so far. The Argentine, though, is not 100% fit and that is something he will get to work on during this international break at the club's base in Cobham.
Liam Delap - 5
A nightmare for Delap, who limped off in the third game of the campaign against Fulham. The Chelsea striker, signed from Ipswich Town for £30million in the summer, is due to return around November time, with his Stamford Bridge career yet to get going.
Tyrique George - 6
George was so close to signing for Fulham on deadline day but that move fell through at the final stages. Maresca has used the 19-year-old five times over the course of the season, with George clearly still part of the head coach's plans. The majority of those appearances have been as a false nine, a position where George has struggled to get too involved in the play. Would like to see more of him on the wing.
