Chelsea cruised to a 3-0 victory over Barcelona on Tuesday evening in the Champions League with the Blues securing a statement win over one of the favourites to win the competition
Chelsea secured a memorable victory on Tuesday evening by blowing away Barcelona under the lights at Stamford Bridge.
Goals in the second-half from Estevao Willian and Liam Delap added to Jules Kounde putting the ball into his own net in the first period to sink 10-man Barca in SW6. Ronald Araujo was sent off in the first-half after picking up two yellow cards, making Hansi Flick's side's task that little bit harder.
Enzo Maresca's team are now on 10 points after five games and up to fifth place in the Champions League league phase table, though there are matches this evening that could change that. Either way, it was a historic night for Chelsea and their players have been reacting to the victory on social media.
Taking to Instagram post-match, Estevao, who produced another breath-taking display at Stamford Bridge, showed his modesty and maturity. "First of all, all honour and glory to God. A great night at home, happy with the goal, but even happier with the big victory," the 18-year-old Brazilian wrote. "The whole team is to be congratulated. We keep moving forward in pursuit of our goals."
Malo Gusto posted some photos of the evening on his page, with a star emoji. Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike, who is Gusto's France teammate, liked the post.
Chelsea captain Reece James wrote: "Three zip... enjoy your night Blues." Enzo Fernandez commented on James' post, "My brother", before the Argentine took to his own Instagram to write: "CHELSEA FC. This is my team! Beautiful Champions League night, enjoy Blues thanks for your support as always."
Wesley Fofana wrote on his page: "What a night!", with his centre-back partner Trevoh Chalobah commenting, "My security". Chalobah then posted on his own page: "Our House".
Pedro Neto, who started as a striker against Barcelona, wrote: "UCL nights at the Bridge, incredible support." Alejandro Garnacho and Andrey Santos posted something similar, referencing how special Champions League nights at Stamford Bridge are.
Marc Cucurella won UEFA's official Player of the Match award. The Chelsea left-back posted a couple of photos on Instagram, one of him celebrating and the other holding the trophy post-match. Cucurella didn't even need to put a caption. Benoit Badiashile commented, "Just wow", in awe of the former Barcelona defender.
Elsewhere, there were a couple of Chelsea players delighted for Delap, who scored his first goal of the season in the 3-0 win. "No feeling like it," Delap wrote on Instagram, with James and Chalobah both commenting their support for the Blues No.9.
