Everton, Tottenham Made Enquiries on Man Utd Ace PSG Are Told to Pursue

TalkSPORT reported that Kobbie Mainoo wanted to leave Manchester United before the transfer window closed if the right offer came in. That immediately brought PSG into the conversation, with one expert suggesting the French club should keep a close watch on the situation.

On a previous episode of the Ensemble PSG Podcast, Football Transfers chief editor Robin Bairner said Mainoo, who didn’t get his summer departure, is a name that PSG should be ready to act on in the future.

“I think maybe one to look at might be Kobbie Mainoo at Manchester United,” Bairner said. “I think he’d be an interesting one to look at, just off the top of my head, because he’s clearly an immensely talented player, but he doesn’t really fit into Ruben Amorim’s system.

“Amorim wants players who are all about intensity, whereas there’s a feeling that Mainoo is lacking a little bit of mobility. I think he could potentially fit into a team like PSG where you’ve got that high tariff on technical ability and being able to play in possession.”

The Daily Mail has backed up our earlier reporting on Tottenham’s interest in Mainoo and added that two more Premier League clubs also explored a move.

According to the report, Napoli were at the front of the queue as they looked to pair him with Scott McTominay in Serie A, while Roma, Marseille, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton also made enquiries.

Whether or not Mainoo becomes a realistic target for PSG remains to be seen. However, prominent teams across Europe are keen on the youngster as the Daily Mail’s Mike Keegan reports that Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid are monitoring the situation of Mainoo.
