Striker Alexander Isak suffered an injury during Liverpool's victory against Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday and may not return to action for a while

Liverpool fans are waiting to hear just how bad Alexander Isak's injury is.
The Swedish striker limped out of Liverpool's 2-1 Premier League win against Tottenham in London on Saturday after being clattered by Micky van de Ven while putting the ball into the back of the net. Isak is believed to have suffered a suspected broken leg.
The severity of Isak's injury should be confirmed before Christmas Day. If the former Newcastle star has broken his left leg, as feared, then he could be out of action for around three months, perhaps longer. That would be a huge blow for Arne Slot and Liverpool.

Presuming he does miss three months of action and returns on March 20, he will miss 13 Premier League matches.
That includes Liverpool's trip to Arsenal on January 8, a game which could have a big impact on where the Premier League title will land this season. Isak will also be unavailable to face Newcastle, his former club, on January 31 and Manchester City on February 8.
And he'll miss games against Leeds, Fulham, Burnley, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Tottenham - plus two meetings against Wolves.

While the Reds are already out of the Carabao Cup, they still have a chance of winning the FA Cup. If Isak misses the next three months of action, he'll not play against League One team Barnsley at Anfield on January 12.
Should Liverpool enjoy a cup run this season, the 26-year-old is also poised to miss the fourth round, to be played around February 14, and the fifth round, to be played around March 7.
And what about the Champions League? Isak is now a major doubt for Liverpool's final two league phase games against Marseille on January 21 and Qarabag a week later.
The Reds are currently ninth in the Champions League standings. If they finish in that position following their final league phase game against Qarabag, they'll be required to compete in the playoff round in February - two games Isak may struggle to play.
If Arne Slot's players progress from the playoff round, their Round of 16 games will take place on March 10/11 and March 17/18. Isak will not be fit in time to play these games if he's going to be in the treatment room for the next three months.
That means Isak could miss up to 22 games for Liverpool, and let's not forget about Sweden. The Scandinavian nation still has a chance of qualifying for next year's World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico via the playoff route.
Sweden will play against Ukraine on March 26. If Isak's teammates win that game, they will take on the winner of Poland's clash against Albania on March 31. Should Isak return to fitness on March 20 - exactly three months after the Tottenham game - he will be fit in time for Sweden's playoff campaign, but he won't be match fit.
Keeping his World Cup dream alive may just give Isak the motivation he needs to get fit and healthy as soon as possible. Isak and everyone connected with Liverpool will be desperate to find out just how bad the superstar's injury is.
