While the majority of Liverpool's squad will be at the summer tournament, a significant number will miss out and, therefore, be available for the club's pre-season tour of the United States

The end of the March international break means Liverpool knows the final list of players who could play at the World Cup this summer, and those who certainly won’t.
Of course, injuries could restrict those from countries that have qualified for the tournament in North America, while several may be overlooked from their respective squads. The likes of Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones and Rio Ngumoha will almost certainly not earn a call-up for Thomas Tuchel’s England roster, for instance.
But, for certain, six members of Arne Slot’s squad can be ruled out of World Cup action this summer. Two more were confirmed on Tuesday as Italy missed out on a place for the third tournament in a row.

Whether Federico Chiesa or Giovanni Leoni would have been involved had Italy qualified is unclear, with the latter last playing at any level in September due to a long-term knee injury, while Chiesa has not featured for Italy for nearly two years and was forced to pull out of the March squad as he was deemed not fully fit.
Gennaro Gattuso’s side lost 4-1 in a shootout on Tuesday, with Pio Esposito and Bryan Cristante missing from the spot in Zenica.

Italy had ended Northern Ireland’s chances of qualifying for the tournament in the playoff semifinals last week, denying Conor Bradley a place at the World Cup. However, like Leoni, the right-back’s involvement would have been in doubt due to injury.
Youngster Kieran Morrison, who has flitted between the first and youth teams in recent months, received a call-up during the last international break, but did not play in either game.
Northern Ireland and Italy join Hungary and Georgia in the list of European nations whose next competitive games are September’s Nations League matches.
Hungary’s absence from the World Cup means Dominik Szoboszlai and Milos Kerkez will have a longer summer break.
The team heartbreakingly lost to the Republic of Ireland in the final group-stage game, a result that left Szoboszlai in tears. The Hungarian captain has since vowed to one day guide his country to the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Giorgi Mamardashvili will be available for the Reds’ pre-season games, with Georgia missing out on a playoff spot after losing five of its six group-stage qualifiers.
Liverpool is also likely to have Kostas Tsimikas and Harvey Elliott available in pre-season, with both currently on loan elsewhere. The Reds will likely rely on youngsters for their summer tour of the United States.
Current Liverpool players who will definitely miss out on the World Cup: Giorgi Mamardashvili, Milos Kerkez, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, Dominik Szoboszlai, Federico Chiesa.
