Danny Murphy has suggested that Mohamed Salah might opt to stay at Liverpool if a new manager were to take the helm, given the uncertainty surrounding the Egyptian's relationship with Arne Slot.
Salah has been a shining star for the Reds for nearly a decade, consistently delivering standout performances and breaking records since his transfer from Roma in 2017. Now over 30, he's seen a dip in form this season, which has led to him being benched on several occasions.
This resulted in a public outburst from the forward before Christmas, where he claimed the club had left him high and dry and that he had no rapport with Slot.

While he remains at Anfield for now, there is increasing speculation that he could be on his way out come summer.
However, Murphy believes a managerial change could provide him with a "new lease of life".
Speaking to BestBettingSites, he said: "Is this Mo Salah's last season at Anfield? I think so, yeah. I know he's contracted longer, but with what's gone on, how the team's performed and how he's performed, I think it would surprise most people if he stayed for another year.
"The only caveat would be if a new manager came in and really wanted to build a team around him, try to get one more year out of him and have that conversation. I don't know Mo Salah personally, but maybe he'd be given a new impetus, a new lease of life, with a different manager."

Despite clinching the Premier League title in his first year, Slot is feeling the heat as Liverpool's performance has dipped significantly, even after record-breaking summer spending. The Reds are still at risk of missing out on a Champions League spot.
According to the Athletic, the Liverpool top brass continue to back Slot despite the current predicament. The Dutchman's relationship with sporting director Richard Hughes remains solid, and there's understanding for the challenges he's faced, including major squad changes and the heartbreaking loss of Diogo Jota.
Last season, Salah's prolific goal-scoring form, netting 34 goals - his highest tally since his debut season - propelled Liverpool towards the title. However, this season, his scoring touch has waned, and he's yet to reach double digits.
This could result in his lowest goal tally since joining Liverpool, raising questions about the club's investment in him. The Saudi Pro League, known for pursuing big names, is reportedly eyeing him again this summer after a previous unsuccessful attempt.
Murphy concluded by saying: "I think it would be a surprise if he's still wearing a Liverpool shirt at the beginning of next season."
