Fabio Paratici wants Tottenham to sign a former Antonio Conte transfer target

Fabio Paratici is keen on Tottenham Hotspur signing a talented Italian centre-back, but his club have rejected an approach in the past.

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be active in the January transfer market, based on the club’s underwhelming displays over recent months. 

Questions have been raised over whether Spurs need an upgrade on Guglielmo Vicario, while midfield and attacking options have also been discussed.

It seems Tottenham might also be looking to add to their defensive line as well, because Fabio Paratici is said to be ‘crazy’ about a central defender who plays for Inter Milan.

Fabio Paratici wants Tottenham to sign Alessandro Bastoni

FC Inter News report that Alessandro Bastoni has caught the attention of Tottenham’s co-sporting director.

Saudi Pro League clubs Al Hilal and Al-Qadsiyah attempted to sign the 26-year-old in the summer, but were unsuccessful in their pursuits. Spurs themselves made an advance towards signing Bastoni, only for this to be rejected, while Chelsea suffered the same fate.

Bastoni has not seriously considered leaving Inter Milan, and he feels ‘deeply attached’ to the club where he has spent more than eight years of his career. It is possible that talks about his contract renewal could take place in the next few months.

Sport Witness suggest the Italian outlet are attempting to hype up Bastoni’s loyalty to Inter, with interest from Barcelona also reported. It is claimed they are attempting to present Bastoni as ‘rejecting half of Europe’s great and good’.

Spurs were interested in Bastoni during Antonio Conte’s tenure

Back in the summer of 2022, it was reported that Bastoni informed Inter he wanted to join Tottenham. However, Bastoni later revealed he never planned to leave the Serie A club.

With reports suggesting the defender is happy at Inter, it seems unlikely a move to Spurs will ever come to fruition, no matter how much Paratici wants it.
