Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Fabio Paratici is no longer certain to return to Tottenham in an official capacity following the departure of Daniel Levy.
The former Juventus director has continued working as a consultant for Spurs since being forced to step down from his role as the North London club’s managing director of football back in 2023.
According to reports, Paratici played a key role in Tottenham’s transfer business in the recent summer window.
Over the last few weeks, it has been widely reported that Paratici will rejoin Spurs in an official role very soon, but that no longer appears certain after the developments over the last 24 hours.
Fabio Paratici will consider his future after Daniel Levy’s Tottenham exit
According to some sources, Levy never had a closer relationship with anyone in football than Paratici, and the 63-year-old was determined to get the Italian back to the club.
However, following Levy’s shock departure from Tottenham on Thursday, it has now been suggested by Fabrizio Romano that the former Juve director’s return to Spurs is no longer certain.
When asked if Levy’s departure could impact the proposed return of Paratici, Romano said on GiveMeSport’s Newsletter: “He will now consider his future. He has always been close to Daniel Levy, so it’s time for decisions to be made.”
Fabrizio Romano is not ruling out a Tottenham sale
It has been suggested by some sources that following Levy’s exit, the Lewis family could look to sell Tottenham.
Others have contradicted that claim, suggesting that ENIC’s priority is on-pitch success at Tottenham rather than a sale, but Romano has now asserted that a takeover cannot be ruled out.
When asked if we can see a takeover of Spurs going through following Levy’s exit, the journalist responded: “This is a topic to explore in the next days and weeks. Nothing is guaranteed now, but we have already been hearing rumours about that since April. Let’s see!”
