Fabrizio Romano has now revealed what he knows about Chelsea’s rumoured move for Man United star Alejandro Garnacho, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over recent weeks.
While Tottenham are well stocked for options in its forward line, Heung-min Son’s future at Spurs remains in doubt.
That might be why Spurs have been monitoring Alejandro Garnacho since the start of the summer window, after the Argentine fell out with Ruben Amorim as a result of the Portuguese coach leaving him out of the starting eleven for the Europa League final.
However, over the last week, it has emerged that Tottenham face competition from Chelsea and Aston Villa for Garnacho, thus complicating the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the 21-year-old.
Boost for Tottenham as Chelsea are not prioritising Alejandro Garnacho
Fabrizio Romano has now taken to social media to back up what we have heard from other sources over the last few days by revealing that the Man United star’s preference is to remain in the Premier League.
The journalist confirmed that the Argentine is on Chelsea’s radar, but he revealed that there have been no talks between the Red Devils and the Blues about the attacker.
Romano handed Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of landing Ganracho a further boost by stating the West London side are prioritising a move for RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons at the moment.

Why Spurs interest in Garnacho has intensified over recent days
While it was reported earlier this summer that Man United were demanding £70m for Garnacho, over the last few days, multiple sources are claiming that Amorim’s men are now ready to sell the Tottenham target for just £40m.
It was asserted by GiveMeSport a couple of days ago that Spurs are showing more serious interest in Garnacho after Man United dropped their asking price.
Thomas Frank’s men now allegedly see more value in the deal and are thought to be intrigued by the Argentina international’s desire to prove himself after being unceremoniously ousted by Amorim.
