Fresh transfer talk surrounding Micky van de Ven has prompted a response, with Fabrizio Romano weighing in on links between Tottenham and Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to keep hold of their best players this summer as they look to rebuild their squad after what could be another disappointing Premier League finish.
However, retaining their key men could prove difficult, with several stars attracting interest ahead of the window.
Micky van de Ven is one such player, with clubs across Europe keen on signing the Dutchman, who is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at Tottenham.

Liverpool has shown interest in signing van de Ven, with the Reds looking to strengthen their backline this summer, as Ibrahima Konate’s future remains uncertain, while Virgil van Dijk continues to edge towards the latter stages of his career.
Manchester United have also entered the race for van de Ven, with claims linking the Red Devils to a £125million move for the Dutchman.
Addressing the speculation on his YouTube channel, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now explained that he does not expect Tottenham to sell both Cristian Romero and van de Ven before revealing what he has heard regarding the Manchester United rumours.
He said “I do not see Tottenham selling both of them (Romero and van de Ven). This would not be in Tottenham style, but there is obviously a lot of attention on the players, because they are among the best centre-backs in the world. And so several clubs are following these situations.
“On van de Ven and Manchester United, these rumours around in the last 24 to 48 hours, coming from England, I received many questions, but guys, I’m not aware about anything really serious or concrete at this stage.”

Romano also addressed the wider admiration for van de Ven and Manchester United’s reported interest, again speaking on his YouTube channel, as he suggested that while appreciation for the defender is normal, there is nothing advanced at this stage.
He continued: “Appreciating Micky van de Ven is absolutely normal because he is one of the best defenders around, so it’s absolutely normal to have these kind of stories on many clubs.
“But at the moment, I think, as I keep telling you, and I told you here on the channel for some time, the focus for Man United and the big spending is going to be on midfielders. Man Utd want to invest in midfielders.
“Then Man Utd to sign a defender? I think it’s a possibility in the summer. Let’s see what happens with [Harry] Maguire if he’s going to stay, if he’s going to leave. But at the moment, for Micky van de Ven and United, there is nothing really serious or concrete.”
