Federico Chiesa has failed to make inroads at Liverpool since leaving Juventus to join the Reds in 2024, and a possible return to Turin is being mooted

Federico Chiesa is reportedly open to the prospect of a Juventus return just a year and a half on from his exit from the Turin club.
Chiesa has struggled to make inroads at Liverpool since the beginning of last season, starting just two Premier League games under Arne Slot.
The Italian has been an impactful substitute at times this term, but underwhelmed when he was handed a chance from the start against Wolves on December 27.
Chiesa was back on the bench for the following game against Leeds, and it is claimed that he is "fascinated" by the prospect of a return to his old side, per Gazzetta dello Sport.

The landscape at Juve has changed since Chiesa reluctantly left Juve in 2024, with Giorgio Chiellini having replaced Cristiano Giuntoli as Juve's sporting director, and Luciano Spalletti in charge of the team after a couple of disappointing managerial appointments.
Prior to leaving Juventus, Chiesa was frozen out by former manager Thiago Motta, giving the Italian little choice but to continue his career away from the Bianconeri.
Juve is said to be considering an approach to re-sign Chiesa on a loan deal until the end of the season, although it is not clear how receptive Liverpool would be to that happening, given the selection issues that Slot has been contending with of late.

Mohamed Salah's long-term Liverpool future is uncertain, while Alexander Isak is on the road to recovery after breaking his leg, and Chiesa's versatility across the front line is an asset — despite his lack of regular gametime.
A return to Italy could also appeal to Chiesa as it would put him back in the spotlight ahead of next summer's World Cup in North America.
Chiesa has not played for his country since last summer's European Championship, and rejected call-ups from Italy manager Gennaro Gattuso for the international breaks earlier in the season.
Chiesa does not feel ready to play an important role for his country due to his lack of minutes at the club level, but a run of games with his old club during the second half of the season could change that.
Italy is yet to qualify for the World Cup, with a play-off semi-final against Northern Ireland awaiting ahead of a possible shoot-out with either Wales or Bosnia and Herzegovina.
