Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa is being courted by the Italian side Atalanta. Signed in a cut-price deal from Juventus last summer, the Italian could look to move on in search of more game time.
After finding minutes hard to come by under Arne Slot in his debut campaign at Anfield, Chiesa has multiple options in Italy. Atalanta is in the process of selling the former Everton winger Ademola Lookman, who has been strongly linked with Inter Milan. AC Milan and AS Roma have also been put forward as potential landing spots.
Should the Nigerian forward Lookman move on, Atalanta could then make a formal approach for Chiesa. The 27-year-old attacker is among the Bergamo outfit's top attacking targets and Ivan Juric's men believe that he would be attainable.
Chiesa recently netted in Liverpool's pre-season demolition of Stoke City behind closed doors. However, he was then left behind for the Reds' tour of Asia due to a minor muscle issue.
In a World Cup year, Chiesa wants to play regular soccer and Arne Slot cannot offer him guaranteed minutes. Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has signed a two-year contract extension and the club has signed the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike in a big summer.
Liverpool paid an initial $13 million (£10 million) for Chiesa plus around $3.4 million (£2.5 million) in potential add-ons. The Premier League champion may want to make a profit given the initial outlay was so small.
"At the beginning, I felt the frustration of the radical change and of being far behind the group, and then there was the injury," Chiesa admitted in June when speaking about his first season with Liverpool.
He came in after pre-season had been completed in 2024 and wasn't ever able to get up to speed.
"Up until the match against PSG, Liverpool was ahead of everyone, in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup, and among the favorites in the Champions League, which PSG won," Chiesa, speaking to Corriere dello Sport, continued.
"Could I start to discuss the choices of Slot who has always been very respectful towards me, as well as the club? The desire to play was there, but I put it aside. I understood the situation. I put aside every form of individualism."

Chiesa only made one Premier League appearance for Liverpool last season, which came when the league title was already wrapped up. But he also said he was happy with the experience.
"The year is over, but it's an experience I would do again," he added. "Soon, I will sit down at the table with the club, [agent] Fali [Ramadani] and my family to find the best solution. I wouldn't mind staying in Liverpool at all."
Liverpool.com says: It definitely feels like the right time for Chiesa to move on. If nothing else, he has now missed a vital part of pre-season in the Asia tour, meaning he will be playing catch-up in a race that already looked near-impossible for him to win.
