Sky Sports has announced a significant change to its programming for the new Premier League season kicks that may not go down too well with some fans.

Since 2020, Celeste's 'Stop This Flame' has been the Sky Sports anthem for Premier League broadcasts. However, the new season is already ushering in major changes with the unveiling of a new intro song.

A revamped version of G.O.A.T by Kasabian ft. Cristale will be the new title track for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign and will be heard across four programmes this weekend.

Singer Serge Pizzorno has reworked and remixed the track, which was originally featured on their chart-topping album, Happenings. The compilation reached No.1 in the UK following its release in 2024, with G.O.A.T being one of the standout songs on the album.

Speaking in a recent press release, he said: “G.O.A.T is all about self-belief and chasing your dreams with everything you’ve got, We’re proud of what this song stands for. This one’s for everyone out there reaching for more, on and off the pitch.”

Sky Sports' director of football Gary Hughes added: “We have a long-standing relationship with the band and ‘ Club Foot ‘ is one of the most recognisable tracks we’ve used, so to be working with Kasabian again is fantastic.”

Kasabian's legendary Club Foot was the soundtrack to the broadcaster's intro for the 2009/10 season. The indie-rock band have also had numerous songs included in the FIFA video game series since 2003 and on Pro Evolution Soccer which will certainly appeal to a particular demographic

Supporters will hear the specially crafted track live for the first time as part of Sky's build-up to the opening match of the season. Current champions Liverpool face Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday evening as Arne Slot's team aim to kick off their title defence with a bang.

The late kick-off on Saturday between Wolves and Manchester City will also give viewers another chance to hear the new track. It will also undoubtedly be played multiple times across 'Super Sunday ' with Chelsea hosting Crystal Palace and Arsenal travelling to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

The final fixture of the first gameweek, also on Sky Sports, arrives on Monday evening with newly-promoted Leeds United taking on Everton.

Stop This Flame has been Sky Sports' longest-running intro track, having enjoyed a five-year stint with the broadcaster. The hope is that this collaboration with Kasabian will extend its reign for a while longer.
