Manchester City fans will return to several changes when they step foot in the Etihad Stadium on Saturday for the first time since May.
Pep Guardiola's side take on Tottenham this lunchtime in their first home game after winning away at Wolves on the opening day. There are plenty of new signings for fans to cast their eyes upon, with James Trafford, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri all impressing on debut after their summer moves.
Some older members of the squad may be making their final appearance, with uncertainty hanging over a number heading into the final weeks of the transfer window.
Even before a ball is kicked though, there will be differences. Extensive work has been going on all summer with the North Stand expansion, predominantly the removal of the old roof and adding a new one to create a single tier for the 7,000 new seats together with what used to be the top section.
A new screen has been added in the south-east corner of the ground that will predominantly be to the benefit of North Stand goers while there have also been improvements to the concourses in that stand.
The club will also be hoping that the new turnstile access system goes smoothly amid concerns from some supporters about facial recognition technology. That will not be in use for fans, but it is a new system for supporters and there will be pressure to ensure that it does not create delays for fans entering the ground to support Guardiola and his team.
Work on the North Stand is expected to be completed in early 2026, with the hotel and other aspects of the £300m renovation expected to be at the end of that year.
