Manchester City transfer latest with several stars set to depart before deadline day

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has made no secret of his desire to trim his squad this summer.
Yet heading into the final two weeks of the transfer window, there is work to be done if the manager's wish is to be realised.
The Blues still have a bloated squad, so much so that even without injured players Rodri, Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol, Savinho and Mateo Kovacic they were able to name a strong squad for their season opener at Wolves.
All five of those players would expect to be in matchday squads moving forward, while goalkeeper Ederson was also out at Molineux.
City have sanctioned a loan for Sverre Nypan, with the Norwegian joining Middlesbrough on season-long deal while Claudio Echeverri is set to join German side Bayer Leverkusen in a similar move.
While those two exits are with a view to long-term success at City, several senior stars could depart the Etihad in the final fortnight of the transfer window.
Ederson has been linked with a move to Galatasaray all summer, while the Turkish club are now also showing an interest in Manuel Akanji. Both players face uncertain futures with Guardiola keen to trim down the size of his squad between now and September 1.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
Savinho is wanted by Tottenham and while there is no breakthrough in talks, the winger could well depart the Etihad if the price is right. Rico Lewis has also been linked with a move with Nottingham Forest showing an interest, although the full back has spoken of his desire to stay at the Etihad and the England international impressed in the opening day win over Wolves.
Ilkay Gundogan, who triggered a one-year contract extension through his appearances last season, was left on the bench at Molineux. And while the midfielder is keen to remain at the Etihad the fact Nico O'Reilly was called upon before him at Wolves could be a sign to the 34-year-old that minutes will be hard to come by at City this season.
It remains to be seen whether Nathan Ake will remain at the club but his status as a homegrown player is valuable to City and a potential Akanji exit would lessen the chances of the Dutchman departing.
City's sales could be swelled further by exits for goalkeeper Stefan Ortega and midfielder Kalvin Phillips with both surplus to requirements at the Etihad. The latter is currently injured, which is hampering a move, while Ortega has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga.
That's a total of eight players facing uncertain futures and while all eight are unlikely to go, it's feasible at least five could move on this summer.
That would bring the current list of 28 senior players down to a more manageable 23 and potentially allow for a couple of replacements amid links with PSG outcast Gianluigi Donnarumma and Real Madrid star Rodrygo.
Get set for a busy two weeks.
