Florian Wirtz scored his first goal for Liverpool during the Premier League win over Wolves, and he was always confident of coming good after a slow start to life at Anfield

Florian Wirtz insisted there is more to come from him after scoring what proved to be Liverpool's winning goal against Wolves at Anfield.
The Germany international's goal was his first since completing a mega-money transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool, and came amid an improvement in his general level of performance in recent weeks.
Anfield erupted when Wirtz opened his account, and he spoke of his delight after the game. "It was very nice the feeling on the pitch with the fans around. I was very happy and I still am," he said.
"I was confident that I would score one day. I wanted to start earlier scoring and assisting but it was like this and I have to accept it. I just know that it will come and I try to keep going like that."

Instead, it was Wolves who were on top after the break, scoring within 10 minutes of the restart and threatening an equalizer for the remainder of the second half.
"We played a brilliant first half," Wirtz said. "We lost the game and got it back. Everyone was working hard. In the last 20 minutes, we made it a bit difficult. I cannot explain why. We have to change that.
"That's how we want to do it. We want to be there and be on top of the table. It's not been an easy start for us but we're doing better and getting the points."
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk agreed with his teammate's assessment of how the game panned out after half-time.

"Unfortunately, we conceded the goal quite early on [in the second half], and that gives them a big boost and some momentum for them to crack on," Van Dijk said.
"I think we played a very, very good first half and [scored] two good goals. [In] possession we were good, defensively we were solid and [had] no problems.
"Obviously, they would come out with a lot more pressure [in the second half], and we have to try and do the same things, which [is what] we said at half-time.
"Unfortunately, we couldn't do that, but obviously that's also part of how Wolves did that. Overall, we found a way and that is key, especially in the season and in the moment where we are and where we have a lot of injuries and players missing.
"It's not an excuse for the second half, but obviously it's good that we got the win and that's very important."
