Manchester City were handed a major blow in their hopes of clinching the Premier League title, as they suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of their bitter rivals. Pep Guardiola's side travelled to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Saturday afternoon, where they were denied all three points by Michael Carrick's Reds.

Disallowed goals from Amad and Bruno Fernandes spelled trouble for the Cityzens in the first-half, before United ran away with the game after the break. Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock with 65 minutes played, before Patrick Dorgu sealed the deal a little over 10 minutes later.

As a result, United climbed to fifth in the Premier League standings, while City were unable to keep the pressure on first-place Arsenal, remaining six points behind in second. The Gunners also have the chance to expand their lead at 5.30pm, when they travel to the City Ground to take on a struggling Nottingham Forest.
