PSG star Vitinha has established himself as one of the top midfielders in football. The Portugal international has flourished under manager Luis Enrique, and one former Parisian player is comparing Vitinha to a Barcelona legend.
In the 7-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen, Vitinha found the back of the net to add more icing to the victory. The former FC Porto star sent a perfect shot, skimming the post to beat Mark Flekken for the seventh time that night.
The Parisians continue their unbeaten run in the UEFA Champions League league phase with a perfect nine out of nine points. Furthermore, these performances continue to reinforce why he was among the top candidates for the Ballon d’Or.
Does PSG Have the Best Midfielder in the World Right Now?

While speaking to “Rothen s’enflamme” on RMC Sport, former PSG goal-scorer Pedro Miguel Pauleta had high praise for Vitinha. Additionally, he believes that his compatriot and Pedri are the best players in the midfield right now and compares them to a former Barcelona player.
“Is he the best midfielder in the world? Yes, I think so,” Pauleta said (h/t Le10Sport). “He and Pedri from Barcelona are two players with incredible quality. They remind me of Iniesta.
“He doesn’t lose the ball; he’s always well-positioned. He can do everything with the ball. He doesn’t make mistakes and doesn’t miss passes. He feels the confidence of his team, his coach, and his club, and that’s important for him. He’s a phenomenon.”

Moreover, manager Luis Enrique had a lot of praise for the player after his performance against the German club.
“This is not the time to talk about just one player, but Vitinha is incredible,” Enrique said (h/t RMC Sport). “He constantly controls everything we need to do. He’s an amazing player. Many criticized me when I play him as No. 6, but he can play anywhere.
“[On Tuesday], however, we need to talk about the whole team. We have to keep playing this way, very attractive for the fans. We have to continue. It’s hard to see a team that wants to win everything. We are still aiming to win everything this season. We have the confidence from last year.”
