Fulham has rejected an enquiry from Everton to sign former Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

The 28-year-old is enjoying his finest Premier League season to date, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in the 23 league appearances for Fulham. That's triggered speculation about his future, with former Liverpool defender Stephane Henchoz and former England manager Sam Allardyce urging the Reds to consider re-signing Wilson.

The Wales international has entered the final six months of his contract at Craven Cottage. It's still unclear whether he'll sign a new deal with Fulham or seek a free transfer; there's even a chance he could make a dramatic exit on deadline day.

Fulham signed Oscar Bobb, a 22-year-old winger, from Manchester City last month. That suggests the London club could be ready to move on from Wilson.

And things are starting to happen on deadline day. As per the BBC, Fulham has rejected an enquiry from Everton for Wilson, who turns 29 in March.

The BBC's report also claims that talks between Wilson and Fulham over a new contract are on hold, but the Premier League club does want to keep the player in London.

Wilson graduated from Liverpool's academy and played twice for the first team in domestic cup competitions. He spent time on loan at Crewe, Hull, Derby, Bournemouth, Cardiff and Fulham before the latter signed him on a permanent basis during the summer of 2022.

Wilson has also won 67 caps for Wales, scoring 17 times. He is the youngest senior player in the country's history - making his debut at the age of 16 years and 207 days - and represented Wales at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Former Fulham midfielder Michael Brown believes the Londoners will be desperate to keep Wilson at Craven Cottage.

"What has surprised me is that Fulham haven't had this deal done already," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"They won't want to lose him and will be doing everything that they can. He has got the keys to the football club, and if they can do the contract, then he will be in a good place. There is uncertainty around the manager, though.

"Aston Villa might be a good fit, but will he play? There is loads of competition in those positions.

"He is at that age now where he wants to play and do so as high as he possibly can."

Fulham is enjoying a good season in the Premier League. Marco Silva's players are eighth in the table, just five points behind Liverpool in sixth.
