Manchester City closed the summer transfer window still waiting to confirm their deadline day deals.

The arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG and the departures of Ederson (Fenerbahce) and Manuel Akanji (Inter Milan) had not been confirmed when the 7pm deadline passed, but all three are expected to be completed in the coming hours.

City have spent big this summer following a significant winter window outlay as Pep Guardiola reshapes his squad.

City did the bulk of their business early with the additions of Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Marcus Bettinelli all confirmed ahead of the Club World Cup.

The Blues subsequently re-signed James Trafford from Burnley and added promising teenager Sverre Nypan, who subsequently joined Middlesbrough on loan. Jack Grealish was the highest profile exit as he joined Everton on loan while Manuel Akanji sealed a deadline day move to Inter Milan on loan with an option for the Italian club to make the move permanent next summer.

City banked £30m for James McAtee as he moved to Nottingham Forest while the Blues continue to reap the rewards of selling academy talent with Callum Doyle, Maximo Perrone and Farid Alfa-Ruprecht fetching nearly £30m combined.

The Blues have lost two of their first three Premier League games and face Manchester United in the derby when the top flight resumes after the international break.
