Manchester City have sanctioned a loan departure for exciting prospect Sverre Nypan with the teenager prospect joining Middlesbrough for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old midfielder arrived at City earlier this summer for £12.5million from Rosenborg in Norway and has been touted as a star of the future.

City always planned to loan him out this season and Boro have won the race for his signature with the Blues confident the Championship will prove a testing ground for an excellent testing ground for players who have the potential to shine in the Premier League.

City are keen to trim down their squad and while Nypan is a young prospect, there are expected to be more senior departures.

James McAtee has completed a £30million move to Nottingham Forest. His exit follows the loan departure of Jack Grealish on loan to Everton, while Ederson and Savinho could follow before deadline day. Neither featured in City's opening day win at Wolves on Saturday amid transfer speculation.

Their departures could prompt City to move in the market and the Blues are ready to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG should they lose Ederson.

City have already signed James Trafford, Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Nypan this summer.

Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega are also likely to leave, and the outgoings may not stop there. Here's a look at the deals the club have done so far:
