Full list of Chelsea ins and outs as six join and six leave during January transfer window

Since forking out nearly £300million on players in January 2023, Chelsea have always been reluctant to splash the cash midway through the season

The January transfer window has slammed shut. The Chelsea sporting directors, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, managed to bolster Liam Rosenior's backline, but they certainly left it until the very last minute.

football.london understands that the Blues were interested in signing Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais, but a deal never materialised. Instead, with time running out and no light at the end of the tunnel, higher-ups at Stamford Bridge decided to reshuffle the pack.

Rather than fork out what would have been an eye-watering fee, Winstanley and Stewart opted to recall Mamadou Sarr from his loan spell at Strasbourg. The move was one of many as they looked to streamline the BlueCo project ahead of what's already lining up to be a busy summer.
