Liverpool fans could get a glimpse of a mouthwatering midfield partnership at Anfield as Steven Gerrard and Thiago Alcantara join forces for the Reds' Legends team.
Last week, it was confirmed that Thiago would be returning to play on Merseyside for the first time since he hung up his boots in 2024 when his Liverpool contract expired. The 34-year-old Spaniard will be one of a number of big draws as the Reds take on Borussia Dortmund during the March international break.
After spending four years with Liverpool, making 98 appearances in total, Thiago decided to retire two years ago. He had long struggled with injuries, but was a technically gifted star for the Reds, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.

Sami Hyypia, Martin Skrtel, Vladimir Smicer, Natasha Dowie, and goalkeepers Jerzy Dudek, Pepe Reina, and Sander Westerveld had already been confirmed as participating.
Ragnar Klavan, Mark Gonzalez, Igor Biscan, Jay Spearing, Ryan Babel, Florent Sinama Pongolle, Albert Riera and Jermaine Pennant will also be options for the Liverpool Legends in the fixture, with more additions still to come.

Riera, who is now the manager of Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, returns after featuring last time out when the LFC Legends hosted Chelsea this time last year.
The other seven former Reds who were added to the squad today were in action for the Legends side that secured a 1-0 win over the Blues at Stamford Bridge last October.
In March of 2025, Peter Crouch scored a brace as Liverpool beat the West London side at Anfield.
All proceeds from this fixture will go directly towards the work of LFC Foundation and Forever Reds.
