Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur in a statement 4-1 win at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, as Mikel Arteta's side extended their lead at the top of the Premier League.

It was a weekend where things seemed to go Arsenal's way. Manchester City suffered a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United, last season's title rivals Liverpool dropped down the table to 11th, and to top it all off, the Gunners beat their bitter rivals Spurs convincingly in the north London derby.

Arsenal now have a six-point gap to second-place Chelsea, with Pep Guardiola's side sliding down to third. Based on statistics, Arteta's side are the best team both defensively and offensively, with the Gunners topping average goals per match and least goals conceded per match.

After a busy weekend for the Premier League leaders, football.london has gathered some of the top stories surrounding the Emirates this morning.

Arsenal dealt transfer blow

Arteta is reportedly not eyeing any signings when the winter transfer window opens on January 1 and will instead focus on the summer window, according to the Mirror. The Arsenal boss wanted to upgrade his left-wing position in the previous window, and Antoine Semenyo emerged as a potential candidate.

The Gunners' interest may have been heightened when news emerged that Semenyo has a £65m release clause in his contract. However, although Arsenal are staying compliant with PSR rules, the club reportedly have one eye on the UEFA Squad Cost rules following an expensive summer.

If Arsenal are keen to sign Semenyo, it may be worth waiting for the summer when the Bournemouth star's release clause is expected to decrease. Liverpool have also been heavily linked with Semenyo, and Jamie Carragher has said his former club must spend more money in January.

Gabriel hits back at Richarlison

Gunners defender Gabriel got sweet revenge against Richarlison on Sunday following Arsenal's 4-1 win in the north London derby.

The 28-year-old shared a photo on Instagram of himself alongside the Arsenal Player of the Month award he earned, Eze's shirt, a signed football and his Player of the Match award, and tagged his Brazilian team-mate Richarlison in the post.

The reason dates back to July. When Tottenham beat Arsenal 1-0 in a pre-season match in Hong Kong, Richarlison tagged the Arsenal defender in a picture with his own Man of the Match award.

Gabriel responded at the time by posting photos of three Premier League Man of the Match awards he has won against Spurs, but when Arsenal toppled Thomas Frank's side at the Emirates on Sunday, he took the opportunity to have another dig.

Arsenal worry highlighted

Gary Neville praised Arsenal's performance against Tottenham on Sunday, but the Manchester United legend also highlighted one concern he has for Arteta's squad.

He said on The Gary Neville Podcast: "The interesting thing is they’ve got [Riccardo] Calafiori and [Jurrien] Timber at full-back. Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ben White are probably better going forward, although there’s not much between White and Timber. They’ve got real options at full-back, real options at centre-back.

"The only player you’d be worried about losing for a period of time would be Declan Rice because you can’t replace that. That’s your Roy Keane, that’s your Rodri, the player that holds you together. There’s only one of them.

"They have got options if he wasn’t there, but you’d never be able to replace his ability to be powerful on set-pieces, his running, his tackling, his impact on the game going forward."
