Gabriel Magalhaes can welcome Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal in perfect way as announcement awaits

6 hours ago 32

Arsenal continue to get closer to signing Viktor Gyokeres as their brand new striker. For most supporters, it is the most highly anticipated transfer of the summer, and the deal has been in talks for many weeks.

There is a sense of tiredness associated with the deal because of just how long the club's talks have been ongoing. The excitement had built up, particularly when the news broke on Sunday, July 13, that the club had agreed a fee in principle with Sporting CP over a move.

While the final details are being sorted, however, attention does turn somewhat to the player’s potential announcement. So far the club have announced four signings this summer with a variation in the style of announcement videos.

Kepa Arrizabalaga had a black and white slow motion 35-second clip which transitioned into colour, waving a flag before panning out to show the goalkeeper standing in front of a corrugated iron door. His name and signature popping up at the end.

Martin Zubimendi was joined by Ezra Collective’s Femi Koleoso. There was narration from an unknown speaker and Zubimendi speaking in Spanish with a theme of symphony and pace with the drumming forming the background of the video before his name and signature were drawn on the screen.

Similarly to Kepa, Christian Norgaard’s announcement was a black and white video, with slow motion and blurred effect as a synth track played alone in the background. Norgaard was pictured doing some ball work before waving a flag and the camera panning out to reveal his name with his signature.

Lastly has been Noni Madueke, the £52million signing from Chelsea with a focus on the theme of north London, where the player’s family live. The video featured lots of people involved with Arsenal in the community, narrated by an alumni of the organisation, Stazzy which eventually revealed Madueke at the end, his name and signature.

When it comes to Gyokeres’ potential announcement there is an opportunity to do something rather cheeky. Fans should be aware of the striker from when the Gunners played Sporting CP in the Champions League, winning 5-1.

Gabriel Magalhaes scored in that game and his celebration was something of an ode to his opponent in the match, Gyokeres. The Swede typically covers the bottom half of his face with his fingers interlocked forming a mask which is inspired by the Batman villain Bane.

Gabriel copied the pose but covered the top of his face and eyes instead. Asked about the celebration in an interview ahead of the pre-season tour, Gabriel said: “Playing against him last year was a challenge.

“He is great and had a great season. About the celebration, it is something I can't talk about right now.”

I sincerely hope the team behind the choreography do not waste the opportunity to call on the help of Gabriel for Gyokeres’ potential announcement. A close-up of the Brazilian doing the celebration before moving his hands down to reveal his eyes, but when he does, instead of Gabriel, Gyokeres is revealed.

What an opportunity, what a chance, let us wait and see first if the deal happens… If it does, then keep fingers crossed ‘Big Gabby’ is involved in some way shape of form.
